Peak Families,
It's spring, it's winter, it's spring again, it's Colorado! Thanks for sending kids ready for whatever weather comes our way. It is great to see each class engage in more active learning, look at each other's smiling faces outside, and really connect as a CREW.

We have some exciting events this week and coming up throughout the spring so here's the most important information:

*Active Learning Garden Volunteer Days! EARTH DAY Tomorrow after school from 3:30-5:30pm OR this Saturday from 8:00-Noon or Noon-4pm, come out and lend a hand in this amazing new outdoor learning space for our kids! We will have a grand opening in the middle of May, but these two days are the most important in supporting the project completion. We will wear masks just to be extra safe with this mixed and larger group of people. Bring your work gloves if you some, otherwise due to a great parent connection with Lowes (Ben- 3rd grade parent), we will also have gloves and tools for people to use that Lowes donated to our project. Feel to bring your own shovels and garden tools as long as they fit safely in the car with the kids:).

Sign up at the link below so we can make sure to have appropriate supplies for the work.

*This Friday we have another amazing bike donation event! Due to the support of one of our 1st grade parents (Gavin), the organization Can'd Aid is donating 50 bikes to Peak for our school wide bike program! To go along with their donation, they have professional mountain biker Jeff Lenosky joining us to show kids some tricks on the playground and the bike park, if it's dry!

*Next week, barring any snow day, we will not have school on Friday April 30th as the last work day to support staff planning. This day will be used for grading, lesson preparation, and finalizing some potential upcoming field experiences! We are awaiting final approval of field experiences at different grade levels and this is only being considered by JeffCO because of our expeditionary school model.

*The first week of May is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! PTA will coordinate with the Principal of Fun to make sure it is a memorable showing of our appreciation of the hard working CREW we have here at Peak. If you're interested in supporting this week, please reach out to our Family Engagement Liaison Sarah Goudie at Sarah.Goudie@jeffco.k12.co.us

That's all for now, can't wait to see us lose the jackets and break out the flip flops and sunglasses!

Make it a great day!
