Peak Families,

Mark it on your calendars, next Thursday Night January 23rd, we have our annual RISE night for students and parents! RISE is a chance for you to learn more about your student's academic performance and the fun ways you can support continued academic growth at home. Students in grades K-2 do not have to go to the classroom, instead we have the Denver Children's Museum coming to our school with programming in our gym. Students in grades 3-5 will go to the classroom with their family members to engage in the RISE experience. We will have pizza for everyone starting at 5:30!

If you have not already RSVP'd, please do so by clicking on this evite link.

Also starting next week, to support all students engaging in quality academic work, we are starting an academic focus enrichment on Tuesday's and Thursday's. This will be for students who are struggling to complete work in class or at home and will be supported by myself & Ms. Haydee, teachers in grades 3-5, and paraprofessional support staff. If your student needs this support, teachers will contact you directly prior to their placement in the academic focus enrichment.

On a health note, with the cold & flu season at Peak hitting hard, please make sure students are getting as much rest as possible with early bed times. There are many medical groups recommending children ages 6-12 get between 9 to 12 hours of sleep on a regular basis for optimal health. On the plus side, early bed time can mean some additional peace and quiet for parents!

We have no school this Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and I hope everyone enjoys a fun 3 day weekend. I believe Dr. King would be proud of the beautifully diverse school we have created here at Peak and the loving & caring culture of CREW we have created together as a community.

Make it a great week!

Sincerely,

Mr. Tim Carlin

Principal of Fun
