Peak Families,

It has been a busy two weeks with our Student Led Conferences, Stakeholder's Summit, Eeeek at Peak Fun Run, 1st Grader's rock climbing & learning about "magnificent belay devices", Kindergarten coffee, Butterfly Pavilions, and beautiful Portraits of Respect being created and finished.  THANK YOU to the over 130 people that joined us for Student Led Conferences & Stakeholder's Summit! Your feedback, support, and encouragement will keep us motivated to constantly improve Peak and make learning challenging, meaningful, and adventurous. For anyone that was unable to attend and wants to give us feedback on our strengths & areas for growth, after school programming for next year, or share your personal or professional passions with our CREW's as they expeditionize the curriculum, please click on the link's below and submit a response:

An important plug for report cards! Our teachers spend extra time writing a narrative for each student connected with their Knowledge & Skills, Character, and Quality Work that we hope gives parents and family members true insights into their students’ performance here at Peak. Please take time to read comments and grades and celebrate the positive areas of achievement with equal emphasis on growing a strength as supporting a weakness. Our CREW culture starts at home and the more you can connect with your student about their performance, the more they will recognize how we are all here to support them through this expeditionary learning journey.

A logistical ask, that has come to my attention is our continued focus on safe driving and following the signage and traffic patterns established for drop off and pick up each day. When dropping off or picking up, please pull up as far as possible so that cars do not block our driveway and sit idle right next to apartments to the right of our driveway. We want to model the value of Empathy and not have our car fumes entering someone’s home if possible.  The driveway is a one way entrance, so if you can stay to the left, it would support our community members who live in these homes and have asked for some support.  Also, at all times, please keep speeds slow and keep eyes out in the cross walk. If you are picking up without leaving your car, please enter the pickup line.  Students will not be allowed to simply leave and walk down to a parked car because we cannot identify drivers for pick up in the parking lot. Thanks for keeping these things in mind, I'm in the cross walk almost every morning and afternoon and want to ensure that every student is safe during the drop off and pick up process.

Finally, as we finish the week we will enter our Thanksgiving week long break and there will be no school from 11/25-11/29, we will start on Monday 12/2 at our normal late start time of 9 am. I truly hope your family enjoys this special time together and we look forward to a strong finish to the semester in December.

Make it a great day!
